Hailing from Manchester, production duo Mark Richards & James Eliot, collectively known as Solardo, are continuing the city’s rich heritage in house music. Crowned DJ Mag Best Breakthrough Act of 2016 and part of Resident Advisors top 100 DJs list, the prolific duo’s meteoric rise is a testament to their hard work in the studio and their infectious energy in the club. They’ve toured all over the world so we wanted to find out what their best gigs have been.
Solardo at elrow THE WAREHOUSE PROJECT was insane! Here’s how it looked!
I think this gig was so special because we have been going to this event since it started 10 years ago. Then to play room 1 when we have watched virtually all the leading electronic music acts in the world there was a complete honour.
As we all know Fabric is an institution for electronic music and to perform there was mind blowing and nerve racking but I don’t know in which order!
Solardo Sessions at The Albert Hall Manchester was insane!
This gig was the homecoming of our 14 date UK tour in our home city of Manchester and sell out such an iconic venue I feel was our biggest achievement to date
I feel this was a monumental gig in the making of Solardo. We played this gig for free to showcase our self on that platform and now we’re hosting our own boat party this year 🙂
We feel this was another massive turning point in the making of Solardo because it was the first time we played B2B with Skream which seemed to get a lot of attention from people.
We have been dying to play the Arcadia stage and to be returning to Glastonbury for the 2nd year running playing B2B with skream on this stage is definitely going to special… The production on this stage is simply insane, a huge robotic spider with dancers, fire, fireworks and of course, it’s Glastonbury!
