Mendo’s 5 Most Essential Records

Swiss artist Mendo’s mantra is simple, “music is life” – and he’s made that very clear. Incredibly, he’s produced over 100 tracks in 10 years and he’s showing no sign of slowing down. In 2015 alone he had 18 releases and this year he has already dropped four EPs. His latest work ‘Sand’, ‘Hey Boy / Liquid’, ‘Bugsy EP’ and ‘Breaks EP’ were brought to us by high-end dance labels Knee Deep In Sound, Incorrect, Wow! Recordings and Material respectively. Other affiliated labels include Saved, Defected, 8bit, Noir Music, Terminal M, Toolroom, Get Physical, Suara, and his own imprint, Clarisse Records.

He’s a busy man Mendo and records producing is one his all time strengths. However we wanted to find out what were his 5 most essential records:

1. Mendo & Yvan Genkins ‘Breaks’ (Material, GR) 2017

Our 2017 best seller with my mate Yvan Genkins. It reached #14 in the TOP100 TH on Beatport and was one of my secret weapons in my 2017 DJ sets.

2. The Scumfrog ‘Sendwave’ Mendo Rmx (Knee Deep in Sound, UK) 2015

This is the first remix I made for Knee Deep In Sound, the label of Hot Since 82. He played it in all his sets for a long time and the track got great support on BBC radio by Pete Tong. After this Daley and I became great friends!

3. Harvey & Hunzed IT ‘Sheeta’ Mendo rmx (Clarisse Records, CH) 2014

My all time best seller remix,  #5 in the 2014 annual TOP100 TH on Beatport and #6 most shazamed track of the summer 2014 in Ibiza.

4. Mendo Feat. Andre Butano ‘’Gringo’  (8bit Records, DE) 2011

One of my biggest summer hits in Ibiza featuring the unbelievable voice of my buddy Andre.

5. Mendo  ‘Inocencia’ ((Cadenza Records, CH) 2011

Certainly the best production in my career and one of the best seller on Luciano’s label, Cadenza records.
