Etihad Stadium Carpark To Host DJ Koze, Charlotte De Witte & Gerd Janson

Two weeks ago Novel announced that German house/techno auteur and Pampa Records label boss, DJ Koze, will return to Australia for the first time in over 4 years to headline smalltown at the newly minted B3 event space. It is now with great excitement that Novel can announce the location of the venue alongside the rest of the international lineup!

B3 will be located at the underground car park of Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, a huge cavernous space that is set to enhance Melbourne’s nightlife. In what is a huge coup for the Melbourne-based agency, Novel has also received the exclusive rights to host dance music events at B3, and once Thursday the 27th of September arrives, it will be the first time ever that this space will be used for a dance music event, a tantalising prospect for Novel Director Daniel Teuma:

When we initially looked for new spaces we really wanted something that has never been used before, a large and unique venue to host high-quality acts which are located right in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. The B3 underground carpark of Etihad Stadium ticked all the boxes and is simply amazing. We cannot wait to turn that space into something that punters will never forget.

Not only does the venue have convenient access to the Melbourne CBD, but also features a late night license which is a real anomaly for CBD dance music event spaces with a capacity of 5000 plus. And as is the case with all Novel events, Teuma re-iterates that there will be a lot of attention paid to the event’s overall production…

‘It is important for us to deliver a new experience to our patrons, and with this venue, we have no doubt that we can deliver just that. Preparations are already underway to see how we can visually enhance the space’s concrete facade, and on the night there will be interactive installations, art installations, and of course, Funktion-One sound.’

The B3 space will be limited to two to three events per year.

Joining DJ Koze for the first event will be Belgium’s Charlotte De Witte, a techno producer/DJ who is easily one of the scene’s most popular acts, and also Gerd Janson, the German label owner, producer and DJ who is loved by anyone with an interest in dance music.
