At the age of 11, Anna Miranda was already on a journey of creative discovery and inevitable career success. More commonly known as Anna, she spent days on end going record shopping and practicing mixing in her youth, which equipped her with all the tools of the trade by the time she had her DJing debut at the age of 14.
Her father who owned a nightclub in the Brazilian city of Sao Paolo, invited his daughter to play a set one night, which unfurled a love affair with techno music for the youngster and saw Anna skyrocket into the international success she is today.
Anna’s sound is all things heavy, emotive, and boasts all the qualities of good techno. Her simultaneous obsession with collecting modular synthesizers and drum machines only expanded her capabilities as a musician, taking her title from world-class DJ, to world-class producer. Beatport deemed her breakthrough artist of the year in 2018, with releases on the Kompakt and Clash Lion record labels, she shows no signs of slowing down.
Her most recent EP released on Kompakt ‘Speicher 105’ is reminiscent of the artists who support her such as Solomun, and Marcel Dettmann. Bursting at the seams with arpeggiated modular synthesizers, sub-heavy basslines, and gut-punching drum percussion, it’s all the audible proof you need that she knows what she’s doing, and she’s one to watch for years to come.
